Mr. Emilio Lamo De Espinosa

Professor of Sociology, Complutensian University

Emilio Lamo de Espinosa (1946) is a Graduate and Doctor of Law and Doctor of Sociology, and Ph.D. by the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB)
He was the Director-General for Universities in the Ministry of Education and Science, and General Secretary of the Council of Universities from the creation of this body in 1985 until 1987. He has been a Member of the Research Committee of the European University Institute (European University of Florence), an advisor to the European Institute of Education and Social Policy (Paris), a consultant for Burke-Emopública, Sofres, Sofemasa and Demoscopia, and a Member of the Higher Council of Statistics.
At present he is a Professor of Sociology at the Complutensian University, and the Director of the Elcano Royal Institute of International and Strategic Studies. He is also a Founding Trustee of the Spain-United States Friendship Council Foundation and of the Spanish Chapter of Transparency International, as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Sociological Research Center (CIS). Emilio Lamo de Espinosa has published 18 books, over 100 scientific papers and more than 100 general-interest articles.
