Jaume Sanllorente is granted the Peaceful Coexistence Award of Ceuta

Founder of the NGO Mumbai Smiles and prominent speaker at the IMPULSA Forum, Jaume Sanllorente received this recognition "for his humanitarian work to emphasize human dignity and promote equality"

Mr Jaume Sanllorente, a speaker at IMPULSA Forum 2011, has been granted the Peaceful Coexistence Award, which is bestowed each year by the Autonomous City of Ceuta to individuals or institutions who have contributed in a relevant and exemplary manner to improving human relations by promoting the values of justice, fraternity, peace, liberty, access to culture andequality. Jaume Sanllorente received, as well as the commemorative statuette, 50,000 euros for the projects of Mumbai Smiles.

Sanllorente has been granted this award for founding and managing the NGO Mumbai Smiles. This Foundation was established in 2005 and initially intended to help the children of an orphanage that was about to close. Now, 6 years later, it promotes education, health and development programmes in the most underprivileged areas that have had a direct impact in the lives of 5,000 unprotected people.
