The purpose of these prizes is to acknowledge and value exemplary achievements involving innovation and experimentation in the fields of vocational training and orientation. By so doing, they seek to assure that good practices resulting from shared efforts in research on the improvement of education, training and orientation will serve as models and inspiration for other professionals and educational centers. It is hoped to stimulate the initiative of teachers and students in this way, highlighting and promoting cooperative projects, initiative and the entrepreneurship spirit through innovation and research actions that increase the quality of education and the vocational orientation process.

Garrotxa High School has won the 3rd Prize of 10,000 euros for its project "Innovation and Educational Orientation through Educational Robotics".

The prize acknowledges 10 years of work, the creation of educational resources and the development of training plans for teachers in the field of educational robotics.

The Prince of Girona Foundation and Garrotxa High School, with the support of the Municipal Council of Olot and the Higher Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), organize the ROBOLOT educational robotics competition, which is held each year in the month of October in the town of Olot. The contest is addressed to high school students and includes training sessions for teachers. Teams from outside Catalonia took part in the competition for the first time in 2011 and plans are to consolidate ROBOLOT as a leading educational robotics event of nationwide scope in Spain.
