The Pygmalion Project kicks off the 2014-2015 academic year by expanding its operation to Madrid and Lleida

Pygmalion is an initiative for educational integration through sport

The Pygmalion Project is starting the 2014-2015 school year by expanding its area of activity to include Madrid and Lleida, in collaboration with the Balia and the Futlleida organisations respectively.

This year the project expects to award 180 grants, thereby consolidating its presence in Girona, with the support of the charities Càritas and SER.GI; in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat with the collaboration of the Ítaca Educational Association and in Sant Boi de Llobregat thanks to the Marianao Foundation.

The project is financed using the FPdGi’s ordinary funds and by specific contributions made by Danone and the Jesús Serra Foundation, both trustees of the FPdGi.

In addition to the abovementioned organisations, the project also benefits from the involvement of the educational community in each city where it operates, which are fundamental stakeholders in its development.

The project’s intervention plan involves different activities, such as academic support, tutoring with families, a system of study grants and regularly scheduled sports activities.
