Born on 14 May 1962 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Ferran Adrià has been considered the world' best chef for several years. In 2004 the American magazine Time included Ferran Adrià on the list of the world's ten most innovative people and since that same year he has been the President of the Advisory Council of the Alícia Foundation, a centre devoted to technological research in the field of cuisine and the dissemination of the agro-alimentary and culinary heritage. Ferran Adrià is the chef and have been the co-proprietor of the restaurant El Bulli, located at Montjoi cove in the municipality of Roses (Girona province), which has been awarded the most prestigious gastronomic distinctions. He is the person in charge of the prestigious Bulli Foundation, ecological institution dedicated to the gastronomy.
