Mr. Jaume Pagès Fita

CEO of Universia

Jaume Pagès Fita (Girona, 1946) studied Teaching, Industral Engineering and Computer Science. He is a Doctor of Industrial Engineering, a Professor of Mechanics, Mathematics and Automation at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and he is currently the Professor of the Systems Engineering and Automation Area.
He has conducted research on signal processing, linear and non-linear filter synthesis, automatic guidance of industrial vehicles, and planning of interplanetary missions. Jaume Pagès Fita was Vice-Rector for Academic Planning (1986-1994) and Rector of the UPC (1994-2002). He is also Doctor Honoris Causa by the Technical University of Nagaoka and President and Founder of the Association Against Anorexia and Bulimia. In 2004 he was the CEO of the Barcelona Universal Forum of Cultures and he has been the CEO of Universia since 2005.
