Mr. Luis Bassat

Luis Bassat is the founder and was president of Grupo Bassat Ogilvy Spain, co-president and creative director of Ogilvy Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and president of Ogilvy’s global Creative Council. Over the course of his career he has received more than 400 national and international awards, and was named Best Spanish and Latin American Advertising Executive of the 20th Century.

Doctor honoris causa from the Communication and Humanities Faculty of the European University of Madrid, and is the author of best-selling books such as El libro rojo de la publicidad (1993), El libro rojo de las marcas (1999), Confesiones personales de un publicitario (2008), Inteligencia comercial (2011), El libro rojo de la vida (2013) and La creatividad (2014).

He is well-known among the general public for having been in charge of creating and executing the Olympic ceremonies in Barcelona and for his candidacy for chairman of Barcelona Football Club.

He has been presented with the Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit, the Gold Medal for Merit in Work, the Saint George Cross and Barcelona ’92 Gold Medal.

Luis has given almost two thousand presentations on marketing, advertising, communication, creativity and art at venues all over the world.
