Actor María Hervás, 2022 FPdGi Arts and Literature Award

Actor, dramatist and producer María Hervás has won the 2022 Princess of Girona Foundation Arts and Literature Award.

jury of experts, meeting this morning in the Edgar Neville Auditorium in Málaga, chose Hervás for “her excellence and versatility as an actor, dramatist and producer”. They also highlighted her “commitment and the social significance of her work and her vision of the theatre as a tool for reflection and change”. 

A theatre, cinema and television actor, Hervás has combined a solid career in theatre with her experience in the audiovisual world, and has developed her own projects as a writer, adapter and director.

The jury, whose decision was unanimous, stressed that Hervás’ sensitivity, creativity and spirit of self-improvement “are in tune with today’s concerns and those of the younger generations, making her a genuine role model”.

The jury was chaired by publicist and member of the FPdGi’s Advisory Council, Lluís Bassat, and formed of journalist and filmmaker Luis Alegre; artistic director of the Liceu Opera House in Barcelona, Víctor García de Gomar; cinema producer Lluís Manso; violinist and 2012 FPdGi Arts and Literature Award winner, Leticia Moreno —who acted as secretary to the jury—; and theatre and opera stage director, Rafael R. Villalobos, 2019 FPdGi Arts and Literature Award winner.
