Lucía Goy Mastromiechele has won the 2021 Princess of Girona Foundation Business Award. The winner’s name was announced this morning during an event held in Toledo and streamed online, which was attended by HM the Queen of Spain; the third vice-president of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño; the president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page; the mayor of Toledo, Milagros Tolón; the president of the Toledo Royal Foundation, Sandra Falcó, and the president of the FPdGi, Francisco Belil, among other distinguished guests and participants.
New Business Award winner
A jury of experts, meeting this morning in Toledo, recognised the work of Lucía Goy Mastromiechele, founding partner of Goy Gentile Abogados, for her “brilliant academic record, which won her coveted grants at international institutions, followed by her solid professional development that has resulted in an extremely promising business project”. The jury also praised the winner for her “global vision” through which she has built “a network of clients in more than 45 countries, spawning important international alliances in the legal world”. In addition, they highlighted her capacity to generate impact “through her support for immigration, and attracting foreign capital to Spain, while always remaining true to her fundamental values of diversity, inclusion and generating opportunities”.
The jury was chaired by the founder of Rusticae and PlenEat, Carlota Mateos, and formed of the head of Google for Startups EMEA, Sofía Benjumea; country manager of Facebook Iberia, Irene Cano; president of Círculo Fortuny, Sandra Falcó; economist Fernando Fernández; the founder of Kibo Ventures, Aquilino Peña; general partner of K Fund, Carina Szpilka; and neurologist, founder of Savana and Mendelian and 2019 FPdGi Business Award winner, Ignacio H. Medrano, who acted as secretary to the jury.
In a message played during the event, and after learning that she had won the Foundation’s award, Lucía Goy Mastromiechele said she was thrilled. “Winning an award like this from an institution such as the Princess of Girona Foundation is a great privilege and an honour. I am delighted to take my place among the large family of previous winners”.

Lucía Goy Mastromiechele, Aberdeen (UK), 04/08/1986
Founding partner of Goy Gentile Abogados, Lucía began her professional career in the tax department of Spanish law firm Uría Menéndez, at their offices in Madrid, where she acquired solid experience in taxation and asset management. She has also worked as an international associate at renowned law firms, including US companies Davis Polk & Wardwell and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, at their offices in New York, London, Brussels and Madrid.
In just over five years, the firm Goy Gentile has grown to a team of 15 people with an annual turnover of 1.6 million euros in 2019. Lucía has received various awards for her career, such as Expansión newspaper’s award for Best Legal Start Up (2017), the Iberian Lawyer Forty under 40 Award for Best Lawyers in Spain and Portugal (2017) and the New York State Bar Association’s Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Contribution.
