A jury of experts chose her for having become “a global leader in the world of science and technology, and more specifically, in the field of artificial intelligence”. Elisenda is cofounder of the start-up Vilynx, which specialises in labelling and indexing videos and internet content to facilitate searches. In 2020 Vilynx became Apple’s first acquisition in Spain. The jury highlighted this project in particular because it “has not only had tangible success, it is also having a strong impact on attracting talent and generating opportunities in our country”. The jury also highlighted her strength and her “humanist touch and commitment to her work as a source of inspiration for young people”.
Elisenda has also collaborated with NASA, MIT and Google in the area of artificial intelligence applied to satellites. She has received awards from Thales, GMV and Google, among others.
The jury was chaired by general partner of K Fund, Carina Szpilka, and made up of country manager of Facebook Iberia, Irene Cano; head of Google for Startups EMEA, Sofía Benjumea; president of Círculo Fortuny, Xandra Falcó; founder of Rusticae and World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Carlota Mateos; founder of Kibo Ventures, Aquilino Peña; CEO of We Are Knitters and 2020 FPdGi Business Award winner, Pepita Marín —who acted as secretary to the jury—; and president and founder of the Columbus Foundation Damià Tormo (2017 FPdGi Business Award winner).
