Yesterday, 19 May 2010, the Prince and the Princess of Asturias and Girona presided over the meetings of the Delegate Committee and the Advisory Council of the Prince of Girona Foundation held at the Royal Palace of El Pardo (Madrid Province). The Prince and the Princess of Girona were received on their arrival by the President of the Board of Directors of the National Heritage, Yago Pico de Coaña, and they were subsequently greeted by the President of the Prince of Girona Foundation, Antoni Esteve; the Foundation’s General Manager, Arcadi Calzada; its Secretary, Enric Brancós; the Foundation’s Vice-Presidents Gonzalo Rodés, Josep Lagares and Jaime Carvajal, and the Members of the Delegate Committee, the Trustee-Founder Domènec Espadalé; the Trustees in a personal capacity Plácido Arango and Simón Pedro Barceló; the President of the COMSA EMTE Group, Jordi Miarnau; the Director of HIPRA, Mar Nogareda; the President of the Banco Sabadell Group, Josep Oliu, and the President of Pikolín, Alfonso Solans.
At the meeting of the Delegate Committee the Minutes of the previous meeting were approved, a budgetary review of the first quarter of 2010 was made and the projects in progress were considered, including the Impulsa Prizes and the Agenda of the Advisory Council, as well as some new projects such as the White Paper.
Once the meeting was closed, the Prince and the Princess of Asturias and Girona went to the Patio de los Austrias courtyard where they were greeted by the Members of the Delegate Committee, Trustees, the Advisory Council and the other persons in attendance linked to the Prince of Girona Foundation. Then they took their place at the assembly table to begin the second meeting of the Advisory Council of the Prince of Girona Foundation.
After a welcome was extended to the new Members of the Advisory Council, a review was made of the projects in progress: the Impulsa Forum of the Prince of Girona Foundation, the Impulsa Prizes, social entrepreneurial projects for Latin-America, the research project on intellectual disability, the White Paper on the Entrepreneurial Capacity in Spain, and the topic of the day, “Youth and the Employment Environment”, which brought the meeting to a close.
