Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Asturias and of Girona held a meeting with members of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) and members of the Executive Committee of the Prince of Girona Foundation (FPdGi), on the eve of the FPdGi's IMPULSA Forum 2012.
Among those attending were the Delegate to the Government in Catalonia, María de los Llanos de Luna; the Mayor of Girona, Carles Puigdemont; the Chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities and Rector of the University of Malaga, Adelaida de la Calle; the Rector of the University of Girona, Anna Maria Geli, and the President of the Prince of Girona Foundation, Antoni Esteve.
CRUE unites 75 Spanish universities, of which 50 are public and 25 private. It was founded in 1994 with the aim of promoting, managing and developing higher education and research; cooperation between Spanish public and private universities and with overseas universities; the exchange of information and the production of studies, reports and recommendations.
