350 fourth-year secondary school students from 17 educational centres in the Girona counties today presented their business plans and projects at an entrepreneurial education presentation that was held in La Mercè Cultural Centre in Girona. The event was the culmination of work carried out in the educational centres throughout the entire school year and forms part of the parallel activities to the IMPULSA Forum, which will be held on 26 and 27 June in Girona.

Today’s presentation of entrepreneurial education projects from the Girona counties has been designed to promote entrepreneurial attitudes in young people to help them successfully face their future professional challenges. During the event, projects and business plans were presented by all the educational centres involved in entrepreneurial education activities in the Girona counties.

In total, 26 teams took part in the event with 350 fourth-year secondary school students and 39 teachers from 17 educational centres in Alt and Baix Empordà, Garrotxa, Pla de l’Estany and Gironès counties.

The day’s activities started at 10 o’clock in the morning with the presentation of the 26 participating business projects before a jury made up of entrepreneurs: Jordi Reixach, from Jmes1 and Minimilks; Anna Zurriaga from Axxon; Gemma Coll from CINC and Jonathan Garcia from Megafounder and winner of YUZZ 2012. Afterwards, the jury and authorities present at the event visited a graphic exhibition of the projects that had been set up in the cloister of La Mercè Centre Cultural.

After the exhibition, two debates on the challenges of being an entrepreneur were held with the participation of the students and teachers, and moderated by the journalist Teresa Turiera.

The event closed with the presentation of diplomas to all those who took part and prizes were awarded for the best projects in recognition of, among other categories, the best business plan, the best marketing plan, the team with the strongest commercial spirit, the most creative project and the most socially innovative project.

The entrepreneurial education projects presentation is organised by Fundació ‘la Caixa’, through the KitCaixa Joves Emprenedors programme; the Fundació Escola d’Emprenedors, with the Be an entrepreneur programme, and Girona Chamber of Commerce and the Prince of Girona Foundation, which promote the Empresa Joven Europea programme run by the Valnalón educational consortium (Asturias).

The event forms part of the parallel activities to the IMPULSA Forum, which is organised by the Prince of Girona Foundation and will be held on 26 and 27 June in the city of Girona.
