Ignasi Belda, 2014 FPdGi Business Award

Awarded for being a young entrepreneur with a solid academic background who is launching his professional career in the field of biomedicine and technology with great effort, determination and innovative capacity and for his clear international vocation which is a living reflection of the real situation facing entrepreneurs in today’s global society.

Ignasi Belda (Alcoy, 1979)is a computer engineer and PhD in Artificial Intelligence applied to Biomedicine. A former director of Barcelona’s Science Park, he has founded four scientific start-ups, including Intelligent Pharma, and sat on the board of directors of several technology start-ups. Dr Belda has international research experience with the Anglo-Swedish multinational AstraZeneca and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in the USA. He is a founding member and president of the association twenty50 and author of three books on artificial intelligence, philosophy and telecommunications. Currently, he is an investor and consultant on technology and science policies and is working towards his second doctorate in Economic Law.
