César Molinas Sans (Barcelona, 1950) is a graduate in Mathematics and a doctor of Economics from the University of Barcelona. He also holds an MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics. He is the founding partner of the Multa Paucis consultancy and currently provides professional services for the Providentia Capital hedge fund, among other activities. After dedicating more than ten years to research and university teaching, he worked for the Spanish government, mainly in European Union affairs.
During this period, he was the Director-General for Planning and was responsible for managing structural funds. In addition, he was Managing Director at Merrill Lynch (London) and was responsible for asset allocation strategies and European fixed income products, among other activities. He has also been Director of Economic Analysis and Institutional Relations for the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) and advisor to numerous other companies, including the Spanish railway company RENFE, and the State postal service Correos y Telégrafos. He has published several books on economics and mathematics and numerous articles in specialised journals. He is a contributor to the newspapers El País, La Vanguardia and Expansión.
