Franz Heukamp has been the dean of IESE Business School since September 2016. He is also a professor of Decision Analysis and holds the Antonio Valero Chair of Business Management. He joined IESE in 2002, and was general secretary between 2009 and 2012, after which he went on to sit on the Governing Board of the MBA Programmes.
He received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specialising in decision analysis and neuroeconomics. He also has degrees in civil engineering from Technische Universität München (Germany) and École des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris.
His main academic interest focuses on decision analysis and quantitative methods, and his principal research area is behavioural decision-making, with a special interest in neuroeconomics. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences and the Society for Neuroeconomics.
